One Step At a Time
Matt Wandnsider
7th Grade
Webster Transitional School
Let’s help the animals,
One step at a time.
They can’t protect themselves
So we’ve got to try.
Whether it be feeding a stray,
Or going out of your way
To adopt a pet,
It all helps.
You’ll feel good inside
Because you know
You’re spreading kindness,
One action at a time.

Take time to be kind by
Making a wish
For a fish.
Don’t put a hat
On a cat.
Say “Hi”
As a bird flies by.
Don’t squish a bug as it crawls
Up the walls,
Or down the halls.
Make sure you care,
For a bear.
Don’ t hurt a hair,
On a mare.
Be funny
With a bunny.
Don’t hurt a tree,
Or a bee.
You should be aware,
That you can care.
With these ways,
You can make sure animals don’t die,
So you don’t cry.

Helping animals makes the world a better place.
Use care and consideration with animals.
Man’s best friend can be any kind of critter.
All animals deserve respect.
Never be unkind to animals.
Everyone should be nice to all animals at all times.

Animals are special creatures.
Some roam
And some live in a home.
Some find their food
And some get their food.
Some are cute
And some are fierce.
But no matter who they are,
Respect their lives and
Take time to be kind!

Feed them in the morning.
Feed them in the evening.
Let them outside and give them a treat…
When they are good!
Say good night,
I love you
And give a kiss
See you in the morning!
