Lexus Rescued from Car Engine

Grafton, Wis. – A kitten rescued from the engine of a car by Clif Ellsworth will soon be up for adoption at the Ozaukee Humane Society. The 4-month-old long-haired beauty hid in the engine during a recent rainstorm. While driving, Ellsworth heard the kitten and fortunately stopped before any injuries could occur.

“It is not that uncommon to hear about cats seeking the protection and warmth of a car engine during the winter,” said Beth Maresh, director of program services at OHS. “We actually recommend that before starting a car in the winter, that people bang on their hood a couple times, just in case.”

Now named Lexus, the kitten is doing much better and enjoying the warmth and comfort of the indoors. For information about adopting Lexus, or any of the animals available for adoption at the Ozaukee Humane Society, please call (262) 377-7580 or visit www.ozaukeehumane.org.
