Dustie Shows Her True Colors

GRAFTON, Wis. – She was found in an industrial shop covered in thick, slimy oil. This poor 12-week old kitten was rushed to the Ozaukee Humane Society where staff took immediate action to save her life.

It is difficult to comprehend how poor little Dustie got covered in oil. Found in an industrial shop, she could have accidentally stepped into a large pile of oil or walked underneath a machine dripping with this gooey substance.

The thick layer of oil has been removed from Dustie's coat. After repeatedly bathing Dustie, OHS staff was finally able to see her true colors – a beautiful domestic shorthair cat with soft black, mahogany and tortoiseshell hair. Despite Dustie's horrific ordeal, her gentle golden eyes sparkle with a glimmer of hope.

Today, the kitten is full of smiles and eager to meet anyone who comes her way. She will make a terrific companion animal for a guardian who can provide plenty of attention, but would also appreciate receiving attention from Dustie in return.

Dustie will soon be available for adoption at the Ozaukee Humane Society and is anxious to be connected with her forever family. For more information about Dustie, call the Ozaukee Humane Society at (262) 377-7580.
