Policeman Rescues
Injured Cat
GRAFTON, Wis. – Although some police no longer
rescue cats from trees, a compassionate officer
in Cedarburg fortunately saved Rosie from suffering
alone on a cold winter’s night. The officer
found Rosie on the side of the road, obviously in
pain and desperate for gentle hands. He scooped
her up and brought her to the Cedarburg Vet Clinic
where she was initially treated until her transfer
to the Ozaukee Humane Society.
How did little Rosie end up on the side of the road,
bruised and battered? Vets noted that her stomach
suffered the worst abrasions and her scrapes and
bruises told a sad story. Gravel bits and a serious
case of road rash indicated that she had been thrown
from a moving vehicle. Rosie had previously been
spayed, so she was once someone’s companion,
but nobody has come to claim her.
Rosie will recover in a few days, and will soon
be placed up for adoption. She is a curious and
charismatic cat, and loves to be petted. She tells
stories with her eyes and promises to be a great
listener, too. Rosie has been microchipped and vaccinated,
and has previously been spayed.
For more information about Rosie, please call the
Ozaukee Humane Society at (262) 377-7580. Additional
information about the Ozaukee Humane Society can
be obtained by visiting www.ozaukeehumane.org.
