Adopt
a Rabbit This February!
GRAFTON,
Wis. – February is almost here, and
many people immediately think of Valentine's Day
– a candlelight dinner, delicious chocolates
and some quality time with their sweetie. But February
also marks another special occasion – according
to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals (ASPCA), February is Adopt a Rescued
Rabbit Month.
All of the rabbits at the Ozaukee Humane Society
are eager to meet their new long-term families.
OHS suggests some of the many reasons to adopt a
rabbit this month:
-
Rabbits
are great outlets for giving and receiving affection.
Their love is unconditional, non-judging and
non-competitive.
-
Rabbits
are natural entertainers. They bring on smiles
and laughter, and help to alleviate stress.
-
You
don't have to take a rabbit outside in the middle
of the night.
-
All
of the rabbits at OHS have been spayed or neutered,
microchipped and received a health exam.
-
The
cost to adopt a rabbit at OHS is only $15.
-
OHS
volunteers socialize our rabbits everyday, which
means we can offer plenty of useful information
about each animal's personality to potential
adopters.
-
When
coming to OHS, you only have to make one stop.
After you adopt a rabbit here, you can pick
up all of the supplies needed for your new friend
at Animal Antics, the store for creature comforts.
OHS
currently has several rabbits available for adoption,
including King George, a 1-year-old Silver Martin
rabbit; Carmelo, a 1-year-old Holland Lop rabbit;
and Dudley , a 3-year-old English Spotted rabbit.
To
schedule a time to meet these and other rabbits,
or to talk with a media spokesperson, contact Michelle
Pintar at (414) 431-6104.
