Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies Take on ASPCA Challenge to Save Lives
Winning Shelter to Receive $100,000 ASPCA Grant
Grafton, Wis. - The Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies (WHS & OHS) have been chosen to compete in the Save More Lives – ASPCA $100K Challenge, competing for a $100,000 grant from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). No other Wisconsin shelters were chosen.
WHS and OHS will be competing together against other shelters across the country during the months of August, September, and October for two prizes: $100,000 will go to the shelter that achieves the greatest increase in lives saved over the three month period compared to 2009. $25,000 will go to the shelter that engages the largest number of members of the community who help in saving more lives.
Here is how you can help:
• Join the Member Page of the ASPCA $100K Challenge and write “Wisconsin Humane Society” as your shelter!
• Mark your calendar for a Kickoff Adopt-a-thon event on Sunday, August 1 and Monday, August 2.
• Follow OzaukeeHumane and WiscHumane on Twitter and become a Facebook Fan of the Ozaukee Humane Society. You can view adopted animals on the Facebook page, too.
• Adopt! During August, September and October, we will be holding numerous adoption promotions. Considering adding a new furry friend to your family? There is no better time!
