Saukville Couple Donates $1 Million to Ozaukee Humane Society

Grafton, Wis. – John and Elizabeth Feith of Saukville will donate $1 million to the Ozaukee Humane Society for the construction of its new animal shelter.

The organization is building a state-of-the-art animal shelter and adoption center, to be located at the corner of Highway 33 and Dekora Woods Boulevard in Saukville. The building will feature largely cage-free animal housing, education classrooms, a veterinary clinic for shelter animals, and expanded adoption space.

Feith is the founder of Wisconsin Pension and Group Services. He and his wife have supported the Ozaukee Humane Society in the past, and their philanthropy is well known to the Saukville community. They have made generous contributions to the Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA, Cedar Lake Homes and St. Peter’s Church in Saukville, as well as the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

“We are so grateful for their support, and their gift will have a long-lasting impact on the lives of thousands of animals and children in the Ozaukee County community,” said Tony Enea, board president of the Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies.

Animal welfare is a cause closest to Elizabeth’s heart, and she has rescued many stray cats, bringing them to OHS for placement in their adoption program. When she heard about the new shelter, Elizabeth hoped she and her husband could help.

“I’m an animal lover,” Elizabeth expressed. “That explains it all.”
