See and Hear the Special Cat Who Can’t

The cats at the Ozaukee Humane Society typically have a story to tell, but staff members were especially touched by Conrad’s situation. Conrad loves to be petted and thrives on human touch much more than the average feline. You see, Conrad is not only deaf, but also blind. Even with those difficult limitations, however, Conrad has a great temperament and is adept at navigating his way through new spaces. He is fascinating to watch as he saunters through a room, sensing vibrations and relying on his whiskers to determine his orientation.

OHS staff members hope that a compassionate citizen will open his or her heart to this gentle boy.  At 8-years-old, Conrad has many years ahead of him, but he will require a very special home. Because of his inability to see or hear, he needs a quiet house where he won’t have to climb stairs or face many physical obstacles. Kim Schultz, Shelter Manager, says that Conrad would do well with older children and other animals, provided that they were respectful of Conrad’s limitations.

If you’re lucky enough to meet Conrad, you’ll notice that the handsome cat is a gorgeous cloud of white fluff. He’s very healthy and happy and will offer a guardian many years of loving companionship.
