Milwaukee
– The Ozaukee Humane Society, a community-based
animal welfare organization in Grafton that provides
a temporary home to nearly 2,000 stray, abandoned
and injured animals each year, is currently selling
raffle tickets as part of its “Paws & Claws
Gala” on April 23.
Tickets
cost $20 each or three for $50, and can be purchased
prior to the event by calling OHS at 377-7580. Only
2,500 tickets are being offered for sale, making
the chances of winning pretty good. If any tickets
remain, they will be sold during the event.
The
raffle prizes, generously brought in part by Carlson
Wagonlit Travel, include:
First
prize: $7,500 trip certificate or $6,000 in cash;
second prize: $2,000 trip certificate or $1,500
cash; third prize: $500 cash.
“The
success of an event relies heavily on a successful
raffle ticket sale,” said Beth Burgess, Paws &
Claws Gala co-chair. “This event is a celebration
of dogs, cats and other small animals, and I'm excited
to raise money for such a worthwhile cause!”
In
addition to the raffle prizes and drawing, the Paws
& Claws Gala offers a night complete with dinner,
live music and a silent auction. The gala will be
held at the Brynwood Country Club, 6200 W. Good
Hope Road in Milwaukee .
To
purchase raffle tickets, or for more information
about the “Paws & Claws Gala” or the Ozaukee
Humane Society, please call 377-7580.
