Ozaukee Humane Society Adoptables at Grafton
PetSmart on Sundays
Adoption Fees for All Shelter Animals to be Discounted 50%
Grafton, Wis. – As part of the ASPCA 100K Challenge, animals from the Ozaukee Humane Society (OHS) will be available for adoption at the PetSmart in Grafton every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in August through October, beginning August 1st.
“The shelter is normally closed on Sundays,” explained Beth Maresh, “but these off-site adoptions at PetSmart will really help boost our adoption rates during the ASPCA Challenge and save more lives.”
The adoption fee for all puppies, dogs, and kittens will be reduced by 50% for the first 100 adoptions at the Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies on Sunday, August 1 and Monday, August 2; the OHS animals available for adoption at PetSmart are included in this promotion. As usual, the adoption fee for adult cats will be entirely waived.
During the months of August, September, and October, the Wisconsin and Ozaukee Humane Societies will be competing together against 49 other animal shelters across the country in the Save More Lives – ASPCA $100K Challenge. The goal is to increase the number of lives saved by 300 or more during the three-month period, compared to the same months in 2009. WHS and OHS have set an overall goal 3,040 lives saved for the three-month challenge. $100,000 will go to the shelter that achieves the greatest increase in lives saved. $25,000 will go to the shelter that engages the largest number of members of the community who help in saving more lives.
