Winky
has Her Eye on YOU!
Special
Needs Cat Hoping to be Adopted in the Blink of an
Eye
GRAFTON,
Wis. – Winky arrived at the Ozaukee Humane
Society as a severely injured stray. In fact, she
possessed an injury quite rare in companion animals
– there was an ulcer in her right eye.
Hanging
from what seemed like a thread, it was anyone's
guess if her right eye could be saved. From the
look on Winky's face, she looked so scared and alone.
It was obvious she was in some sort of trauma. She
could have contracted a bacterial infection in her
eye or, worse yet, intentionally had a sharp object
pierce her eye. No one will ever know what happened
to poor little Winky.
The
feline was rushed to the Wisconsin Humane Society
for immediate evaluation. It was determined Winky
would need surgery to remove her eye.
Thanks
to the caring staff at the Ozaukee and Wisconsin
Humane Societies, Winky is now recovering from her
traumatic ordeal and her newly shut area where there
was once an eye is healing. This cat with special
needs is hoping to be adopted in the blink of an
eye.
