Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Ozaukee Humane Society! Everyday, a volunteer helps improve the life of an animal here at the Ozaukee Humane Society. Every OHS volunteer plays a vital role in the success of our shelter, which cares for nearly 2,000 abandoned animals each year.

Due to the amount of training required for most volunteer positions, we require a personal commitment of at least 6 months of service for any position that involves working directly with the animals. If you are unable to make the 6-month commitment, we encourage you to consider volunteering in our more flexible areas, including special events and fundraising.

Volunteers ages 11-17 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who has also attended the orientation and training. For some positions, young people may volunteer with an adult. Please read each volunteer opportunity for the minimum age requirements.
